Wabi-Sabi "The Japanese concept of accepting, appreciating imperfections and seeing theme as beautiful."
When Emily moved to Milan from New York City, she had only been once before. With starry eyes and big dreams she earned an internship at Etro and said “perché no?!” After designing for Etro for 3 years, Emily decided to start creating a project of her own. In the spring of 2018 and many cappuccinos later, Emily Levine's first collection was born.
The brand is a culmination of feel good products. Incorporating the concept of essentials only, collecting special pieces for your travels and everyday life. Creating effortless and comfortable products that travel with you wherever you go. For the travelers and explorers at heart and the idea that good designs can be simple yet stand out for their attention to craft/detail and artfully sourced materials. Less is more. Using fresh forms we aim to create a timeless and unique collection that you can cherish forever and not just for one season.
Her inspiration started from her travels throughout Japan. The fusion of Japanese and Indian aesthetic was what brought this collection to life. Each bag is one-of-a-kind and artfully hand-crafted in India. They are produced in small quantities and in partnership with local female artisans who work from home to support their families. Colorful beads on crochet, refined embroidery, upcycled antique silk saris, and the ancient method of block-printing are the recipe for Emily’s first collection.
Emily also incorporated playful handmade jewelry inspired by nostalgia. As little girls we have all worn our colorful beaded jewelry, walked across beaches in search of shells, and watched with glittery eyes as our mothers and grandmothers put on their pearl earrings and necklaces. With her handmade treasures, Emily wants you to rediscover the comfort of nostalgia.
